Didn't you just love...

the days when you had parties at school: Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, etc. Oh, and the best part of Valentine's Day was making your own Valentine's box. Man, that was fun! Wasn't it?!!!!!The girls celebrated Valentine's Day at their school with a program by the 2nd grade and of course, parties. Each classroom exchanged Valentines, but they also made ice cream sundaes. Since Katie Beth is in 6th grade, the students usually don't have parties anymore, but Katie Beth's two teachers let their students bring food and Valentine's. Katie Beth took a cake, which turned out fabulous!

The moments I miss...

I really enjoy my job as a school library media specialist (librarian) at a middle school. I've got a great gig! BUT there are times when I think it would be great to be a SAHM, taking the kids to school, volunteering at school, etc. Today, because Katie Beth is down with the flu, I stayed home and drove Isabella and Maggie to school (which I never do because I go to work early). Here are the moments I miss...

P.S. Check out my Shelfari to see what the School Librarian reads.

One of the best gifts...

Each of the girls received digital cameras for Christmas. They have been the best gifts for several reasons. For one, the girls have a blast taking pictures of each other, family, and friends. Also, they take the cameras to school and get pictures when I cannot be there to do so myself. Furthermore, they get pictures that I would never get. For example, I just discovered the pictures below on Isabella's camera from our Super K Family Weekend. The pics are fabulous! Lastly, I, the mom and official family photographer, get to be in the pictures now. Someday, when I have passed on, there will be evidence now that I actually existed! LOL!

I know the card game looks friendly... but when the family plays the card game PEANUTS, it can get dangerous! LOL! The K's are a little bit competitive!

We played the card game PEANUTS until 2 a.m.!

While we were celebrating Chinese New Year, Michael and I were reading the personality descriptions of Chinese Zodiac signs for each family member. It was Laugh Out Loud funny!

Day 95...

and we got LOA!!!!!! (Letter of Acceptance from the Chinese government) On February
9th, Blake and I were in Vegas for furniture market. Blake was at the World Market Center, and I was at the Miracle Mile in the Planet Hollywood shopping. In front of the Roxy store, my phone rang with a number I didn't recognize. It was my case worker. At first, she just talked about an email I had sent her that weekend and didn't sound very upbeat. She casually said, "I was just answering your email when someone walked into my office with your LOA." Because she sounded so nonchalent, I asked her if I had heard her correctly. Yep, we got our LOA.

Oh, yeah and one more thing...

My sister-in-law Patty wins a prize for leaving the first comment. Yea, Patty! I am not sure what the prize will be, but it will be something good, I promise. And to my nephews (yea, you know who you are) who complained because at first I did not give people the option to leave comments, where are your comments?!!!!! Show me the love!

For those of you counting...

It has been 91 days since our dossier has been logged-in at the CCAA (Chinese government agency that handles adoptions). I just know that next week we will get our LOA. Keep those prayers coming!

Care Package

I just know that any day that we will receive our LOA, so we sent off a care package for our little man, Jack Henry. We included a blanket (Thanks, Grandma K!), tooth brush, tooth paste, cars, a teddy bear, and candy. Jack Henry, we will be there soon! Hang on!!!!!

Searching for Bald Eagles

The whole clan (minus a few) got together this weekend for family fun. We attended mass, ate, celebrated Chinese New Year, played cards (until the wee morning hours), laughed, and searched for Bald Eagles that nest in Oklahoma during the winter months. We all drove to a local lake in search of them. Luckily, we saw four Bald Eagles circling overhead. The kids loved it!

Watch out Beethoven!

What a good looking bunch!
